COURSE INFORMATION

Line Construction 2

This course is designed for employees in an advanced stage of apprenticeship training who have at least a year of experience safely performing rubber gloving from an aerial device with full supervision. Students should also have experience performing live line work from an aerial device with full supervision, and should be able to perform live line work safely. Through this course, students gain extensive hands-on training and experience during training exercises with experienced craftsmen, who provide one-on-one training on three-phase construction. After completing this course, the students should be able to perform rubber-gloving techniques safely and plan hot work in a safe and proper work order. 

Each participant should bring

Hardhat - Handline - Rubber gloves - Multipurpose wrenches - Leather work gloves - Hand tools

Rubber sleeves - Skinning knife - Eye protection - Screwdrivers

Rain gear - Kleins - Proper footwear - Hammer - Long-sleeved shirts - Harness/Lanyard

Course Prerequisites

The participant should have experience as a groundman or be an apprentice lineman.

Course begins at 1 p.m., Monday, September 30 and ends at noon, Friday, October 4

32 hours (3.20 CEUs) A South Plains College certificate will be mailed to participants who complete this course and pay the $10 fee.

Cancelations made more than 15 days before the event will receive a full refund, minus a $50 charge per student or substitution.
